Tenpin Bowling: Jason Belmonte wins 27th PBA Tour title

Australia’s Jason Belmonte has won THE STORM CUP: David Small’s Kokomo Championship in Kokomo, Indiana.

The victory marks his second title of the 2022 season and his 27th PBA Tour title overall, surpassing Don Johnson into outright ninth on the most PBA titles in history.

It was a dominant victory for Belmonte, leading every round heading into the finals where he finished as the top seed, before going on to defeat Nick Pate in a nail-biting championship match 249-243.

It has been a very impressive start to the season for Belmonte. He won the PBA Players Championship in January, his 14th major title, before falling just short of another major title at the US Open, finishing third.

Belmonte now turns his attention to the upcoming PBA Tournament of Champions in Fairlawn, Ohio – a major he has won on three previous occasions in 2014, 2015 and 2019.
