NRL: Tips for Round 13

Gold Coast Titans v North Queensland Cowboys

Thursday 2nd June at Cbus Super Stadium, 7:50pm

Both sides will be looking to bounce back from disappointing losses last round. The Cowboys poor completion rate cost them against the Panthers, but they showed plenty of resilience in defence, whereas the Titans once again capitulated and blew another 20+ point lead against the Broncos. Although the Cowboys are missing a few key players to Origin duties, they should get the job done against a woeful Titans outfit.

Penrith Panthers v Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs

Friday 3rd June at BlueBet Stadium, 7:55pm

If there was ever a time to score a win over the reigning premiers, it is during the Origin period while they are missing most of their star players. Problem for the hapless Bulldogs, the Panthers are still fielding a strong side with NRL quality depth players who are dominating in NSW Cup. If the ‘cub’ Panthers maintain their defensive discipline against a poor Bulldogs attack, they should win.

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles v New Zealand Warriors

Saturday 4th June at 4 Pines Park, 7:35pm

Times are getting desperate for the Sea Eagles and Warriors, as both sides are out of form and quickly losing touch with the top eight. Both sides are not overly effected by Origin, but on paper Manly are still fielding a relatively strong side and the home field advantage might be enough to see them edge out a struggling Warriors.

Canberra Raiders v Sydney Roosters

Sunday 5th June at GIO Stadium, 4:05pm

The Raiders will be desperate to stay in touch with the top eight after they let last round’s game against the Eels slip through their fingers. The Roosters lose a few key players to Origin but their star halves are still intact and Manu is a more than capable replacement at fullback. The Raiders are always tough to beat at home though, and they always get up for the Roosters and might cause an upset.
